Wildflower Bloom in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon

Fifteenmile Creek Trail #456, Cedar Creek Trail #457 and Underhill Trail #683 from Fifteenmile Forest Camp to Underhill Forest Camp

Mount Hood National Forest

June 27, 2023

Rocky slopes along the Cedar Creek Trail filled with broad-leaved stonecrop with a large ponderosa pine behind.....Mt. Hood National Forest, June 27, 2023.

Rocky slopes along the Cedar Creek Trail #457 filled with broad-leaved stonecrop(Sedum spathulifolium) with a large ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) behind. Mt. Hood National Forest..... June 27, 2023.

Note: This is a relatively difficult route due to the number of downed trees across the 3 trees, length, steep elevation loss and gains and exposure along the eastern end of the Cedar Creek Trail where it follows a ridgetop steeply down to Fifteenmile Creek. The trail tread there has numerous spots where there are rolly rocks atop harder packed trail. In addition, the Underhill Trail from Forest Road #4421 dowhnill to Fifteenmile Creek is so lightly used that once the grasses have grown, the route can be difficult to find.
