A slope filled with newly blooming wildflowers along Soda Springs Road in the Klickitat State Wildlife Recreation Area.......April 30, 2010. Columbia Gorge lupine (Lupinus latifolius x sericeus), Carey's balsamroot (Balsamorhiza careyana), showy phlox (Phlox speciosa), Suksdorf's desert parsley (Lomatium suksdorfii), and Hood River milkvetch (Astragalus hoodianus) are just some of the flowers beginning to bloom there.

Today the weather was in the mid to high 50s with clear, sunny skies and a stiff wind from the north in exposed locations!
