Trail #1373 from Howard Creek south past Grouse Springs onto Colockum State Wildlife Area lands
Wenatchee National Forest
A Washington Rare Plant Care and Conservation Program hike.
Trail #1373 took us through coniferous forest and open sagebrush to Grouse Springs which is part of the Colockum State Wildlife Area. We then traveled partly cross country as well as via a jeep road heading south towards Naneum Creek. As this road descended the last slopes towards Naneum Creek, we turned west at a gated road which stays level and headed towards a small, oblong lake which is naturally formed and has an outlet to Naneum Creek at its west end.
