The upper slopes of Sheep Canyon on Mt. St. Helens as seen from the Loowit Trail #216, Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument........October 19, 2014. Note the masses of beargrass. This slope will be beautiful during a good beargrass bloom year!


Trails hiked along this route include the Toutle Trail #238, Sheep Canyon Trail #240, Loowit Trail #216 to the South Fork Toutle River crossing and return via the Toutle Trail to the Blue Lake Trailhead.
