This specimen has been cut off a log to show the coral-like internal structure. The image at right shows newly emerging bear's head fungi emerging from the butt end of a downed log along the Lewis River Trail #31 upstream of the Curly Creek Falls Trailhead......October 11, 2024. A western trillium and inside-out flower are at the base of the log.
