Animals Observed During This Hike:

Bighorn Sheep: Approximately 30 spotted at various locations. Some ewes are off by themselves. Is it lambing season?

Canada Geese - Active along the banks of the John Day River.

Chukar - A few sightings, numerous calls from different locations.

Pheasants - Calling from multiple locations.

Golden Eagle

Northern Harriers - Two pairs spotted hunting and performing aerial and vocal displays.

White-crowned Sparrows

Yellow-rumped Warblers

Canyon Wrens

Ruby-crowned Kinglets
