This trail runs from near the refuge headquarters through open coniferous forest along the northern edge of the wetlands which constitute the bulk of Conboy NWR. If you are keen on viewing nature, I would allow at least 2 hours of time to explore the trail. There are good spring wildflowers along the route because the merging of forest and wetland habitats, and the birding should be good also, especially in the morning. An observation platform can be found near the end of the trail (less than 1/2 mile from Willard Springs) and is a good place to rest, have lunch, or just sit and view nature.
