Calystegia atriplicifolia ssp. atriplicifolia
Synonym: Convolvulus nyctagineus
The photo above shows a small cluster of blossoms
of night-blooming morning-glory as seen along the Island Springs Trail on the
eastern slopes of Mt. Adams.......July 1, 2005. This species might make
an attractive wildflower for use at the front of a border or along a path, since
its growth is quite restrained (The vines are at most 20 cm long.).
Sites on Mt. Adams where this species may be viewed:
1. Along Road #82 at SnowKing SnowPark.
2. Along Road #285 in the Yakama Reservation where it crosses
Bird Creek
3. Open slopes on Island Springs Trail #66 above 5000'.
4. Open slopes on the southern part of the loop of Hellroaring
Creek Trail #10 to the northeast of Bench Lake.
5. On the upper edge of the east-facing, open slopes of Crofton
Butte.
6. Willard Springs Trail at Conbooy Lake NWR.
7. Shorthorn Trail
8. Stagman Ridge Trail

of Mt. Adams........July 1, 2005. The vines of this species are
much shorter than other morning-glories, and may make a nice plant for the front
of a dry flower border.
