Mt. Adams..........June 11, 2005. Note the 5 sepals reflexed upwards
from the pendant flower, with the 5 spurred petals which are tipped with yellow.

leaf of red columbine as seen at 6700' atop steep north-facing slopes on the
Ridge of Wonders. Each leaf let is in turn cleft to its midsection into 3 lobes
