Adams.......................June 11, 2005. Note the 5 sepals reflexed upwards from the pendant flower, with the 5 spurred petals which are tipped with yellow.

The photo above shows the compound ternate leaf of red columbine as seen at 6700' atop steep north-facing slopes on the Ridge of Wonders. Each leaf let is in turn cleft to its midsection into 3 lobes with each lobe having the margin parted again...............August 12, 2006.
