Grass Widow: Sisyrinchium douglasii
* indicates the wildflower is blooming.

Catherine Creek

1. Chocolate Lily: Fritillaria lanceolata - Several short ones in bud.

*2. Yellow Bells: Fritillaria pudica - Moderate bloom.

*3. Grass Widow: Sisyrinchium douglasii var. douglasii - Moderate bloom, probably peeking in 7-10 days at the lower elevations.

*4. Lineleaf Montia: Montia linearis - Moderate bloom.

*5. Western Buttercup: Ranunculus occidentalis - Lots of leaves, but only several in bloom along the lower trails.

*6. Oak Toothwort: Cardamine pulcherrima var. pulcherrima - Only several seen.

*7. Spring Whitlow-grass: Draba verna var. boerhaavii - Numerous bloom.

*8. Smooth Prairie Star: Lithophragma glabra - Several beginning to bloom.

*9. Northwestern Saxifrage: Saxifraga integrifolia var. integrifolia - Numerous leaves with a few beginning to bloom.

*10. Filaree: Erodium cicutarium - Numerous bloom along the old rail bed.

*11. Columbia Desert Parsley: Lomatium columbianum - A few plants in bloom. Some nice plants are in full bloom on south-facing slopes between Bingen and Doug's Beach.

*12. Pungent Desert Parsley: Lomatium grayi - A few plants in bloom with pungent leaves just peeking out of the ground.

*13. Salt & Pepper or Piper's Desert Parsley: Lomatium piperi -Numerous bloom.

*14. Midget Phlox: Phlox (Microsteris) gracilis - A few in bloom.

*15. Small-flowered Blue-eyed Mary: Collinsia parviflora - A few in bloom near creek.

*16. Gold Stars: Crocidium multicaule - Moderate bloom.


Animals Seen: Northern Flicker, Black-capped Chickadees, Scrub Jay, Western Meadowlark, California Ground Squirrel.
