Directions to Mud Creek Forest Camp:

From Lakeview, OR, drive east on Oregon Highway 140 headed towards Adel, OR. Pass the Warner Ski Area and cross over the crest of Warner Pass. Continue downhill for several miles and at the first 4-way paved road junction, turn right onto paved FS Road 3615. (Note: Older maps show the turn about miles further west, but that portion of FS Road 3915 has been decommisioned.) Drive south through privately owned meadows for about two-thirds of a mile and turn right, staying on pavement as the road stays to the north side of Camas Creek. After about one and one-quarter miles, the road ends and turn left over the creek via a bridge and continue south on FS Road 3915.

After about three miles you will crest the ridgeline near the Rogger Meadow Trailhead on the right. Stay straight on FS Rd 3915. The road slowly climbs uphill past several nice meadows and then begins descending into the Willow Creek drainage. Cross Willow Creek which is the only large creek along this stretch of road. It has beaver dams on it and a nice view uphill west to the crest of Crane Mountain. Turn right onto Forest Rd 4011 (should be signed for both Willow Creek Forest Camp and Crane Mountain) and drive about two-thirds of a mile to a signed spur road into Willow Creek Forest Camp.

The campground has two older, small pit toilets, seven campsites complete with fire rings and picnic tables, but no potable water. The campground is generally lightly used, except perhaps during major holidays and hunting season. It has big ponderosa pines around the campsites, so it provides plenty of shade, whether you are camping or picnicking.
