K6000 at small creek moist area at about 2740'

1. Western Lady Fern: Athyrium filix-femina ssp. cyclosorum -

* 4. Creeping snowberry: Symphoricarpos hesperius (S. mollis) - White berries are ripe.

Rock Quarry & Ridgetop Dividing the Dairy Creek and Cougar Creek Drainages (at the end of Rd K6900, elevation 4000'-4100'): Much of this site saw the conifers thinned from late July into August.

1. Western Larch: Larix occidentalis - Attractive, yellow, deciduous foliage.

2. Brome: Bromus sp. - New seed heads.

3. Scouler's Willow: Salix scouleriana - Numerous large plants on north side of ridge.

4. Field Peppergrass, Field Cress: Lepidium heterophyllum

* 5. Virginia Strawberry, Broad-petal Strawberry: Fragaria virginiana ssp. platypetala - This species has been reblooming at a number of sites around the mountain the past few weeks.

6. Mountain Hollyhock: Iliamna rivularis - Several dozen young, heavily browsed plants were found at a landing growing only where slash had been burned a year or so ago.
