The photo above shows a view up the southern slopes of Mt. Hood as seen from along the Pacific Crest Trail about one-quarter mile east of Timberline Lodge....................August 29, 2008. The trees in this view are both whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) and mountain hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana) while the flowers include lupine (Lupinus sericeus) and (Eriogonum umbellatum).
