California Broomrape: Aphyllon californicum ssp. grayanum (Synonyms: Orobanche californica ssp. grayana, Orobanche californica var. grayana, Orobanche grayana, Orobanche grayana var. grayana) - Flowers on pedicels less than 3 cm long with several narrow bractlets found in addition to the wider subtending bract. Calyx 10-20 mm long with lobes much longer than the tube. The corolla is large and showy, measuring 25-40 mm long with long, widely spreading lips from 10-14 mm long. Found northwest of Lakeview, OR.

Flat-top Broomrape, Flat-topped Broomrape: Aphyllon corymbosum ssp. corymbosum (Synonyms: Myzorrhiza corymbosa, Orobanche californica var. corymbosa, Orobanche corymbosa ssp. corymbosa) - Flowers on pedicels less than 3 cm long with several narrow bractlets found in addition to the wider subtending bract. Calyx 10-20 mm long with lobes much longer than the tube. Corolla 16-25 mm long with short, erect to somewhat spreading lips from 4-9 mm long.
