[Columbia River Gorge Wildflower Reports: 2010]

Currently Blooming Wildflowers in the Columbia River Gorge

Three Bench Loop (east of Lyle, WA at MP 79 on SR-14 above Doug's Beach)

February 15, 2010

Yellow Bells: Fritillaria pudica

Yellow Bells: Fritillaria pudica. This site is typically where I seen the first yellow bells in bloom each year.

This used to be one of Russ Jolley's popular hiking routes. I'm noticing that the western part of the loop is heavily signed as "No Tresspassing", and others who have hiked the loop have found it too easy to stray off public lands onto private property where they have been challenged by ranch hands on horseback, so it is advisable to probably stay off this hike unless you know the route very well.
