Desert Shooting Star: Dodecatheon conjugens

* Indicates the wildflower is currently in bloom.

Weather:Temperature in the low 30s, no wind, overcast with a light, wet snowfall. Snow on the ground (several inches) but also melting.

* Grass Widow: Olsynium douglasii var. douglasii - Fading bloom, perhaps not a good year for the bloom of this species through much of the gorge.

* Line-leaf Montia: Montia linearis - Several beginning to bloom.

* Western Buttercup: Ranunculus occidentalis - Several in bloom along the lower trail.

* Spring Whitlow-grass: Draba verna - Numerous bloom.

* Northwestern Saxifrage: Micranthes fragosa - A few plants still in bloom.

* Northwestern Saxifrage: Micranthes integrifolia - Several in bloom.

* Rusty-hair Saxifrage: Micranthes rufidula - Several in bloom.

* Columbia Desert Parsley: Lomatium columbianum

* Klickitat Desert Parsley: Lomatium klickitatense

* Butterfly-loving (Pungent) Desert Parsley: Lomatium papilioniferum - A few plants in bloom with pungent leaves just peeking out of the ground.

* Salt & Pepper or Piper's Desert Parsley: Lomatium piperi - A few still in bloom.


Animals Seen:

Ravens, American Robin, Dark-eyed Juncos, Golden-crowned Sparrows, Northern Flicker, Western Bluebirds
