Hoary Sagebrush, Silver Sagebrush: Artemisia cana ssp. bolanderi (Synonyms: Artemisia bolanderi, Artemisia tridentata ssp. bolanderi, Artemisia tridentata var. bolanderi, Seriphidium canum ssp. bolanderi) - Leaves linear, all or nearly all, entire.

Big Sagebrush, Tall Sagebrush: Artemisia tridentata - Woody shrub, freely branched above, from 4-30 dm tall. Leaves gray, crowdedn narrowly cuneate with 3 rounded teeth or lobes on the blunt tip. Flower heads loosely spread out along the tips of the branches. The flower heads are soley discoid with 3-8 flowers per head.
