Habitat:
Soft soil in meadows & forests. Moles leave round or conical shaped mounds of earth which may be air holes or entrances to their underground tunnels.
Traits:
1. Grayish black body with pointed, naked & pink snout.
2. Short tail is rat-like (scaly & hairless).
3. Front feet greater in width than length with sharp claws. The front feet are largely used for underground digging.
4. Eat earthworms & bugs (not plants).
