Habitat:

Forests, thickets, & open areas.

Traits:

1. The only large american owl with "ears" or "horns".

2. Dark brown coloration with striping. Many breast stripes.

3. Has large head, looks neckless.

4. To 25 in. in length.

5. Seen before sinset to sunrise.

6. Good night vision.

7. Hearing is excellent.

8. Owls make no noise during flight.
