Habitat:

Swamps, marshes, farmland.

Traits:

1) Female is a drab brown orverall with light streaks.

2) Male is solid black color with a red and yellow shoulder patch.

3) Male perches on high objects to sing and see rivals.

4) Eats grains, fruit, insects.

5) Orchard pests. One of the three birds it is legal to hunt in the U.S.A..

6) Second most common bird in the U.S..
