[First Review of Enzyme Reactions]

16. When there is a large excess of substrate, why does increasing the concentration of enzyme cause a linear increase in rate of reaction?

A) The temperature is higher so the molecules are all moving faster so there is a greater chance of collisions and thus more reactions.

B) More enzyme molecules are present so there is a greater chance they will collide and react with more substrate molecules, so the reaction increases.

C) There is less enzymes so the reaction rate increases.
