29. The type of enzyme inhibition that
is illustrated in the diagram below is known as noncompetitive
inhibition. In this type of inhibition, an inhibitor molecule binds to
another portion of the enzyme (no the active site!). This deforms the shape
of the active site so that the normal substrate is not able to bind to it, thus
blocking the reaction from being catalyzed.
