27. According to the induced fit model
of enzymes, as the substrate/s bind to the active site of the enzyme, the active
site may alter its shape slightly to better fit the substrate and thus better
facillitate the reaction being catalyzed. Induced fit allows the possibility
that several different substrates may fit the enzyme. Such enzymes may catalyze
more than one reaction.
