24. A secondary level protein consists of simple loops or coils of a single polypeptide chain with occasional hydrogen bonds formed between amino acids in the chain that are non-adjacent.

A tertiary level protein consists of a complex series of loops or coils of a single polypeptide chain.

The chain on the left represents a secondary level protein as it is a simple coil or folding of the polypeptide chain. The figure on the right represents a tertiary level protein of more complex coiling or folding in several different planes.
