23. A primary level protein consists
of a single polypeptide chain with no hydrogen bonding between adjacent loops
or coils. A secondary level protein consists of a single pollypeptide chain
with hydrogen bonds connecting adjacent loops or coils.
The figure on the left represents a primary
protein (simple polypeptide chain.....note their are no hydrogen bonds connecting
the loops) while that on the right represents a secondary level protein (with
dashed hydrogen bonds connecting adjacent coils).
