known as cotransport. The cell uses ATP energy to move 3 Na ions out of the
cell while 2 K ions are pumped in. This is known as the sodium-potassium pump.
The sodium potassium pump is coupled with a second protein channel so that as
Na diffuses back into the cytoplasm through the coupled channel, it helps bring
the large sugar or glucose molecule in with it!
