A california ground squirrel that had been mauled by a dog or coyote and was in the process of expiring at Catherine Creek.........March 23, 2017. Despite the gruesomeness of the photo, it provides a good view of the color patterns of this ground squirrel species' coat. And keep your dogs on leash when out in nature!
