Hybrid lupine: Lupinus leucophyllus X sericeus.

This is a variable lupine (in terms of flower shape and color) that is found in the Columbia River Gorge (and southwards between Wasco, OR and Condon, OR. Fall-blooming plants are whitish near the Dallesport, WA and get progressively pink or blue-lavender near Wishram, WA. Plants are dark blue-purple in the vicinity of Rock Creek.

Hybrid Lupine #1 - A blue-flowered form from the Oregon side of the river, a mile east of the Deschutes River mouth.

Hybrid Lupine #2 - A pinkish flowered form from grassy slopes above Wishram, WA

Hybrid Lupine #3 - A blue-lavender form from grassy slopes above Wishram, WA.

Hybrid Lupine #4 - A dark blue-purple form from Rock Creek (east of US 97).
