Green-banded Mariposa Lily, Greenband Mariposa Lily, Sagebrush Mariposa Lily: Calochortus macrocarpus var. macrocarpus (Synonyms: Calochortus douglasianus, Mariposa macrocarpa) - Petals 4-7 cm long, white to deep lavender in color with a medial greenish band. Sepals narrow and longer than the petals. Basal leaf narrow and channeled, less than 1/2 the length of the flower scape. Spreading hairs on the inner petal surface found only lining the gland.

Cat's-ear, Cascade Mariposa Lily, Mountain Mariposa Lily, Subalpine Mariposa Lily: Calochortus subalpinus (Synonym: Calochortus lobbii) - Petals generally less than 3.5 cm long, creamy or yellowish-white or occasionally tinged with lavender. Sepals more broadly triangular and less than the length of the petals. Basal leaves with wide, flat blades, the leaf more than half the length to nearly equal the length of the flower scape. Spreading hairs cover much of the inner petal surface.
