This is an easy to recognize willow which is low, creeping along the ground and rooting at the nodes. The glossy, dark green leaves are thick, rounded with a net-veined patern.
Netted willow with its leaves turning to the typical willow fall color of yellow. Note the ovate to obovate shape as well as the noticeable netted venation of the leaves. Note also the woody stem lying prostrate against the ground. Photographed along Stony Creek to the east of Gravel Mt...................September 6, 2009.
