Bracken Fern
Pteridium aquilinum
The photo above shows the triangular shape
of the bracken fern seen along the Island Springs Trail #66 to the east of Little
Mt. Adams..................August 25, 2005. The fronds are bi- to tri-pinnately
compound. This species spreads underground by rhizomes.
