Unidentified Damselfly B in Mount Adams Country
Both photos of damselflies on this page were
taken at the same location in heavy marsh foliage alongside an irrigation canal
near the southern loop of the Willard Springs Trail at Conboy Lake NWR.........July
28, 2006. Both are clutching the stem of smooth horsetail (Equisetum laevigatum).
These spreadwings were photographed at the
same location, along a narrow irrigation canal alongside the southern loop of
the Willard Springs Trail at Conboy Lake NWR........July 28,
2006. I'm thinking that the lower photo possibly represents a northern spreadwing
because the lower appendages of the abdomen appear long and straight from this
angle.
