Unidentified Damselfly B in Mount Adams Country

Both photos of damselflies on this page were taken at the same location in heavy marsh foliage alongside an irrigation canal near the southern loop of the Willard Springs Trail at Conboy Lake NWR.........July 28, 2006. Both are clutching the stem of smooth horsetail (Equisetum laevigatum).

Unidentified Damselfly B in Mount Adams Country

These spreadwings were photographed at the same location, along a narrow irrigation canal alongside the southern loop of the Willard Springs Trail at Conboy Lake NWR........July 28, 2006. I'm thinking that the lower photo possibly represents a northern spreadwing because the lower appendages of the abdomen appear long and straight from this angle.
