Mormon metalmarks nectaring on Gairdner's yampah (Perideridia montana) in the Klickitat Canyon Natural Resource Conservation Area........August 10, 2017.
The photo above shows the upper wing surface of a mormon metalmark nectaring on tall buckwheat (Eriogonum elatum) as seen on the western rim of the Klickitat Canyon in the Klickitat Canyon NRCA..........August 17, 2007. The individuals seen and photographed here were so focused upon the flowers of the tall buckwheat that they could be approached closely with disturbing them. They were also seen upon the flowers of common yampah (Perideridia gairdneri) at this site.

The photo above shows a view of the upperwing of a mormon metalmarks nectaring on tall buckwheat (Eriogonum elatum) as seen on the western rim of the Klickitat Canyon in the Klickitat Canyon NRCA...........August 17, 2007. Note the black and white striped antennae which are held close together as well as the greenish compound eye.
