The photo above easily shows the form of rough
harebell with its narrow leaves with entire margins, the glaucous surface of
leaves and stems and erect flowers. Photographed atop Little Mt. Adams (6815')
on the southeastern slopes of Mt. Adams........July 16, 2005. On
Mt. Adams at least, it is commonly found on high, cinder slopes.

The photo at left shows a close-up of the upper
stem and flower of rough harebell. Note the dense covering of minute, stiff
and grayish hairs on the calyx and upper stem. Note the 3-lobed stigma protruding
beyond the mouth of the corolla tube and the acute tips to the corolla lobes in the photo at right.
