The 3 photos above show views of foothills arnica as seen along Umatilla National Forest Road #44 near Cook Spring.........June 25, 2007. Arnica fulgens is very similar to Arnica sororia. The former species tends to be more robust with larger stem leaves on the lower stem. It can perhaps best be separated from Arnica sororia by the tufts of wool in the lower leaf axils.
