The leafy bracteate inflorescence of sticky cinquefoil (var. glandulosa) as seen along forest road #7300,Wenatchee National Forest..................June 8, 2009. The very short, creamy petals are reminiscent of var. reflexa, but the bracts at each branch of the inflorescence are much too large and leaf-like for that variety.

Note that the petals are shorter than the sepals and the sepals are covered with long spreading hairs as well as shorter gland-tipped hairs. The leaves typically have 5-7 leaflets, although only 3 may be present on occasion.
