The photo above shows a close-up of the inflorescence of Monardella odoratissima. Note the long tubular flowers with 5 long, narrow lobes. Note the large, broad bracts with ciliate margins that subtend the inflorescence.

Narrow-leaved Monardella: Monardella angustifolia - Found between the Owyhee River and Oregon-Idaho border.

Stems and leaves glabrous to densely and finely haired, often somewhat glaucous. Inflorescence a tight, terminal cluster of lavender to purplish flowers subtended by large, leaf-like bracts. Corolla not bi-lobed but rather with 5 lobes. 4 stamens present.
