Merten's Mountain Heather, Western Moss Heather, Western Mountain Heather, White Heather: Cassiope mertensiana var. mertensiana (Synonym: Cassiope mertensiana ssp. mertensiana) - Leaves numerous and closely appressed as wellas closely overlapping to the erect to spreading stems. Leaves opposite on the stems. Flowers several and whitish to pinkish-tinged, pendant. Leaves not grooved on the lower surfaces and glabrous or perhaps ciliate-margined.
