Leaves up to 2.5 cm long, glossy green, obovate in shape with a short, sharp, abrupt point at the tip. The berries are brownish-red. Plants typically of subalpine to alpine habitats.

Green-leaf Manzanita, Snowbrush Manzanita: Arctostaphylos patula (Synonym: Arctostaphylos patula ssp. platyphylla) - Erect ot spreading shrubs well over 100 cm high. Leaves yellow-green, ovate to elliptic in shape, typically more than 2.5 cm long. Berries brownish.
