2a) Leaf surfaces moderately to densely glandular-villous, margins glandular-puberulent to glandular-villous. Stems 3-24 cm, usually simple or few-branched; Calyces 7-12 mm; corolla tube-throat 13-16 mm, limb 14-26 mm wide, capsules 10-17 mm, usually exceeding calyx .........Diplacus cusickioides

2b) Leaf surfaces glabrous to sparsely glandular-puberulent, margins minutely glandular

3a) Corolla tube throat 8-12 mm, limb 10-16 mm wide;, cauline leaves 10-15 mm; Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, and Wheeler cos., Oregon .........Diplacus deschutesensis

3b) Corolla tube throat 13-16 mm, limb 16-24 mm wide; cauline leaves 15-25 mm Malheur Co., and Ada Co., Idaho .........Diplacus cusickii
