Fritillaries: The Genus Fritillaria East of the Cascade Mountains of Oregon and Washington

Chocolate Lily: Fritillaria atropurpurea

Chocolate Lily, Purple Fritillary, Spotted Fritillary: Fritillaria atropurpurea - Tepals dark brownish purple, mottled with greenish yellow. Leaves 2-7 mm wide. Tepals 12-20 mm long and elliptical in shape, tapering about equally to both tips. Widespread east of the Cascades.

Chocolate Lily: Fritillaria affinis (Synonym: Fritillaria lanceolata) - Tepals dark brownish purple, mottled with greenish yellow. Leaves 3-25 mm wide. Tepals 20-30 mm long, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, tapering mostly to the tip. Generally found from the eastern slopes of the Cascades westward with a few locations recorded in the Blue Mts.

Yellow Bells: Fritillaria pudica - Tepals deep yellow, orange or reddish-tinged and not mottled. Widespread east of the Cascades.
