"Bees" of the Pacific Northwest
Honey Bee: Apis mellifera
The bees and wasps are two groups of interesting,
mostly social insects. The wasps tend to be less hairy while the bees tend to
be more hairy overall. Their are exceptions to both rules however. The wasps
tend to be meat eaters or scavengers, while the bees tend to feed on nectar
and pollen.
