The diagram above illustrates the process of transcription.
A segment of DNA known as a gene has been opened up by an enzyme (labelled by
RNA polymerase). The enzyme then begins putting RNA nucleotides down on the
exposed DNA nucleotides at the lower part of the diagram. When the RNA has been
completed, it will leave the nucleus and move to the ribosome.
