Aquifer Clean-up Methods

Containment:

Dig ditch around pollution, place plastic sheet or concrete in ditch to block spread of pollution.

Excavation & Incineration:

Dig up pollution and burn it, returning back to soil when free of pollution.

Dig up pollution & transport to another site for storage (in barrels or buried underground).

Send electricity through the ground to "burn the pollution up.

Use genetically engineered bacteria to eat up the pollution & make clean soil.

Pump polluted water from aquifer, filter it, then return it back underground when clean.

Shut down all wells into the aquifer so no one uses the polluted water.
