Gresham: Space Age Fuels Inc. is being ordered by the state Department of Envionmental Quality to pay $20,327 for water , air and hazardous waste violations.

The company, which stores petroleum at 2019 S.E. First Street in Gresham (accross Burnside St. from Blockbuster Video), is appealing the fine.

No one was available at the company to discuss the DEQÍs citation.

However, the company has begun upgrading its storage tanks and has applied for the authority to treat the soil on the site.

Space Age is being ordered to obtain the necessary permists and to capture and treat all petroleum runoff.
