Habitat:

Wet soils, stream banks


Characteristics:

1. Shiny yellow flower petals rise above leaves on stalks. May to August or later bloom.

2. Deeply lobed leaves some times blotchy white or shaded.

3. Grow in masses from spreading root systems.


Uses:

1. Not edible. An oily irritant causes dermatitis for some people.

2. Poisonous to livestock. Irritant is driven off during drying for hay.
