Characteristics:

1. Five round white petals surround numerous yellow pistils and stamens on stalk taller than leaves.

2. Coarsly toothed trio of shiny dark green leaves. Reddish runners enable plants to spread creating patches.

3. Very sweet small red fruit. Fragrant.


Uses or Importances:

1. Sweeter than cultivated varieties, the berries area prize woodland treat.

2. Rich in vitamin C, the dried leaves can be used for tea.
