#7. This wildflower is Vetch. Its scientific name is Vicia villosa.

This plant may be used as cattle feed when found west of the Cascades. More importantly, like most peas, it has nitrogen-fixing bacteria that live on the roots, and thus add nitrogen fertilizer to enrich the soil.
