Rhus diversiloba


Family Name:

Sumac Family


Habitat:

Forest openings to talus slopes at low elevation along Columbia & Willamette Rivers.


Characteristics:

1. Low bush to small tree (2-8 ft tall).

2. Leaf shiny green, with 3 leaflets that are oval-shaped to slightly lobed.

3. Resembles small oak tree.

4. Oils cause severe itch & rash.


Uses or Importance:

1. Caution- All aspects of this plant are dangerous (Some people are more allergic than others.).

2. Avoid contact with infested pets or clothes!

3. Eating it or breathing its smoke may be fatal!
