Monkey Flowers belong to the Figwort Family.
A use of this plant is as a pretty plant for moist spots in wild gardens. When seen, one can dig next to it for water as it is usually found in very moist ground or at springs. All parts of the plant are edible, and its juices are often used to thicken stews. The plant juices may also be used to soothe bug bites, and as a body lotion to beautify the skin.
